Greetings,
It’s 2023. Time to kick things in gear and make great things happen!
Naw, this is not one of those “New Year’s Resolution” kind of posts. Not at all.
Rather, it’s like a ‘note to self’ to remind me that action is required for anything worth striving for.
Case in point – being a copywriter.
Yep, if you want to become a copywriter – especially a decent one, ya gotta put pen to paper and write!
Sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it?
A writer actually writes.
No sure where to begin. Then you may consider taking a . . .
Killer Copywriting Course . . .
These by the way, are not in short supply. You can choose from many excellent guides who’ll teach you the basics.
I firmly believe that we all should be grounded in the basics.
Personally I believe whatever course you may decide on should cover at lease the basics of persuasion . . . you know subjects surrounding. . .
. . . good old fashion salesmanship!
Perhaps one of the best ways to educate yourself would be to take a job in sales. This may seem a bit extreme but if you’re truly serious about learning how to sell stuff, this could be one the best ways to get that education (and get paid along the way).
Again, this is just my opinion. So please forgive me.
Oftentimes, some of the best copy ever written is loosely derived from an actual sales pitch.
Of course it goes without saying that copywriting encompasses many types of assignments beyond just writing sales letters and direct mail packages – a few examples are audio/video scripts, brochures, landing pages, white papers, newsletters, feature stories, articles, and the list goes on.
Essentially all commercial writing falls under the copywriting guise.
So, I guess the moral of this story is action.
Your assignment today is this: Get started doing your thang – whether it’s writing a sales letter, starting your business, starting that course you’ve been putting off –
Just get started today. Action!
And today’s action is for those who are seriously tinkering with their biz marketing and are looking for some fresh advertising ideas.
